Since I’ve been out here in Colorado, I noticed I have become quite the fan of granola bars.
As well as just plain granola in general.
Today I decided to try to make my own, and apparently, it is something that doesn’t have an “exact” recipe. I sorta just winged it. Haha! 🙂
First you add the ‘dry’ ingredients together; old-fashioned oats, almonds, walnuts, pecans, sunflower and pumpkin seeds. I used about 2 cups of oats, and then 2 cups of nuts, in whichever mix you wish.
Next you add the ‘wet’ ingredients; you should add about a 1/4 cup of honey/syrup, and another 1/4 of a mixture of those two. Stir so its nice and moist completely through!
Then bake the granola on a cookie sheet at 350* for 30 minutes. Stir or mix the granola ever 10 minutes.
(If you like clusters, don’t stir the granola after you place it in the oven.)
If you want to add fruit or berries, you should place them in for the last 10 minutes of baking, or after you’re done baking.
