Scrolling through Twitter and Facebook like I normally do; I found out about some pretty neat contests, selfies to post, and activities you should mark on your calendar! April is one busy month, and is full of neat activities/events you could take part in.
April 19th-27th is National Park Week. It is promoted by the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation. To start the week off, April 19th and April 20th will be Fee-Free Admission days to all National Parks!
April 26th is also National Junior Ranger Day, and many parks have special events happening then.
Check out the National Park Service’s website for a list of events in a park near you!
Celebrate Earth Day early by watching Disneynature’s Bears! In theaters April 18th!
April 22nd is Earth Day, and NASA invites you to take part in a #GlobalSelfie event!
“While NASA satellites constantly look at Earth from space, on Earth Day we’re asking you to step outside and take a picture of yourself wherever you are on Earth. Then post it to social media using the hashtag #GlobalSelfie.“
Check out the site to find out the neat project they plan to do with our selfies!
ICF International is working with the Arbor Day Foundation and will plant a tree for every #SelfiesInNature photo you share.
Honest Tea and the National Park Foundation also want to see your selfies!
It could win you an annual pass to the National Parks and a months supply of Honest Tea.
Last but certainly not least is the National Geographic Travelers Photo Contest.
