Sometimes on vacation, we have the tendency to not use our brains. 🙂
Which leads up to some very funny comments and questions. Below are some questions I have found interesting, or adorable!
*Cliff Palace Overlook before a tour: Mesa Verde National Park
Visitor: “If I would’ve know you were the guide, I would’ve bought a ticket!”
Me: “Oh yeah?…”
Visitor: “Yeah, I wasn’t sure if I was going to need mouth-to-mouth.”
Me: “… uhhhhh……”
*At Balcony House at the end of the tour: Mesa Verde National Park
Me: “I need to remind you, that it is a FEDERAL OFFENSE, to take a picture of a Park Ranger crawling through the tunnel.”
-The tour group cracks up laughing.
Visitor: “But that’s the best view!!!!!”
*At Balcony House: Mesa Verde National Park
Visitor: “Wow, the fire burn area looks like Scar-Land.”
Visitor: “No, Scar, like Scar from the Lion King. When he ruled the land, everything was dead and desolate, like that area over there. Scar-Land.”
Me: “Ohhhh! High-five for the Disney reference.”
*A five year old boy became my best friend on a tour, and at the end of the day we said our goodbyes: Mesa Verde National Park.
Junior Ranger: “Do you live in Colorado?”
Me: “For the summer I do.”
Junior Ranger: “I’m not sure if I”ll get to see you very often.” (Pout Face)
Me: “Probably not little guy, probably not.”
*Walking down to Spruce Tree House in uniform: Mesa Verde National Park.
Visitor: “Oh! Do you work here?”
Me: “…….. Uh. What gave me away, my hat or pants?”
*In uniform at Spruce Tree House: Mesa Verde National Park.
Visitor: “You are so cute! You look like you’re still in high school!”
*After a tour of Cliff Palace: Mesa Verde National Park.
Junior Ranger: “When I grow up, I’m going to be an Indian!”
*Before a tour of Cliff Palace: Mesa Verde National Park.
Visitor: “There’s my favorite ranger! I was on your tour two weeks ago and it was amazing. You were great! Smiling and energetic the entire time. You were made for this job.”
*Mesa Verde National Park
Visitor with thick Georgia Accent: “I thought you did have an accent!!!”
