If you don’t know yet, I’m sure you will soon realize that I have quite the sweet-tooth! Today I experimented with trying to make a “healthier” cookie …. perhaps I should say “a better for you” cookie. I got some help from 83 Healthy Recipe Substitutions to replace some ingredients with a healthier one. I now give you, the Banana Chocolate Chip “better for you” Cookie! They remind me of the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies I made! Bake at 375* for 8-10 minutes INGREDIENTS 3/4 cup granulated sugar 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce 1 cup mashed bananas (about 2 bananas) … Continue reading Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies
I looked back at my “Delicious Recipes” posts and realized that almost all of them are dessert recipes, and I get the most traffic to my blog when I post food related things. Since I’ve been out here in Colorado, I noticed I have become quite the fan of granola bars. As well as just plain granola in general. Today I decided to try to make my own, and apparently, it is something that doesn’t have an “exact” recipe. I sorta just winged it. Haha! 🙂 First you add the ‘dry’ ingredients together; old-fashioned oats, almonds, walnuts, pecans, sunflower and pumpkin seeds. I used about 2 cups of oats, and then 2 cups of nuts, in whichever mix you wish. Next you add the ‘wet’ ingredients; you should add about a 1/4 cup … Continue reading Homemade Granola!
